Trying to get a look at the speakers: no such luck

By the time we arrived, it was so crowded that I couldn’t get close enough to see the speakers — couldn’t even be sure where the podium was. The sound system was loud and clear, however, and they repeated speakers on scaffolds at intervals far back into the crowd. The scaffolds you see here are the ones closest to the speakers’ platform. I tried walking all around the crowd to get a view of the speakers, but from every angle it was nothing but people and people and people. I didn't have a wide angle lens, so the image above is a composite of two photos from the same vantage point.
